About this book

The Wise Fool: Fables from the Islamic World by Shahrukh Husain, illustrated by Micha Archer, collects stories of Mulla Nasruddin, the beloved trickster of Muslim folklore.

Nasruddin's foolish-seeming behaviour always hides a clever point — about greed, pride, fairness or common sense. The short tales are funny and easy to read aloud, with lively illustrations.

It is a great introduction to the folk heritage of the Muslim world.
