The Clear Quran is a complete English translation of the Quran by Dr. Mustafa Khattab, a scholar of Islamic studies who has taught and served as an imam in North America. His goal was simple but demanding: to convey the meaning of the Arabic as accurately as possible while producing English that reads smoothly and naturally, without archaic language or awkward phrasing. The result is a translation that many readers say they can finally read cover to cover, the way one reads any well-written book.

Every surah begins with a short introduction that sets out its main themes, when it was revealed and how it connects to the surahs around it. Brief footnotes appear where a verse needs historical context, where an Arabic word carries more than one meaning, or where a common misunderstanding needs clearing up. The notes are deliberately concise, so they help rather than interrupt. The translation has been reviewed by scholars and endorsed by a number of Islamic institutions, and it is now one of the most widely used English Qurans in homes, schools and mosques.
