Forty Hadith Qudsi

About this book

A hadith qudsi is a saying in which the Prophet ﷺ relates words from Allah that are not part of the Quran. These narrations have a special place in the hearts of Muslims because they speak so directly about Allah's relationship with His servants.

This collection, compiled and translated by Ezzeddin Ibrahim and Denys Johnson-Davies, presents forty such hadith in Arabic and English. Many of them are about Allah's mercy and forgiveness — "My mercy prevails over My wrath", the servant who draws near by voluntary deeds, and the one who comes walking and is met running.

The book is small, beautifully presented and suited to reflection and memorisation.
